Pixel Abstractions

“Daniel approaches his work with a free, open, and rule-abandoning attitude. He has stated that he will try to do things wrong in order to break new ground and open up new possibilities for creating artwork. He combined digital capture - long exposures using [various] light sources - with extreme cropping to reveal pixel patterns. They sometimes resemble Escher’s dreamy repeating patterns, at other times Daniel’s prints take on the look of a charcoal graphic. This is a process he has invented and named ‘Pixel Abstractions.’ His interest in science is a driving force in his art making. Daniel’s interest in photography and science are taking him in innovative and creative directions.” -Stan Sherer
